D.O.C.G. is the highest classification for Italian wines. There are six D.O.C.G. wines in Tuscany: Brunello di Montalcino, Carmignano, Chianti, Chianti Classico, Vernaccia di San Gimignano and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. Each day of the Wine Tour, you will travel to one of the wine regions to visit wineries, sample their wines and purchase any wines that are particularly appealing. Accommodation is in an agritourism (renovated farmhouse), where they usually grow grapes and olives. There is often a “fattoria” where they make wine and press the olives.
