This country Villa was built in the later half of the 18th century and sits amid a beautiful hilly setting and olive grove on the lower western slopes of Monte Albano. Originally two separate peasants cottages, the villa underwent a careful restructuring which united the two buildings without compromising their individual integrity. Only local - often rehabilitated - building materials were used in the highly environmentally-sensitive project. Interior decoration received similar care and attention - with an abundance of antiques, museum-quality art and Persian rugs throughout - and the result is an ideal modern home yet with a beautifully maintained feeling of Tuscan ambiance. De deluxe modern amenities include Jacuzzi tubs, microwave ovens and ice-making machines. There are also mountain bikes provided for guests' use.

For more than thirty years, the owners have cultivated their passion for antiques and have furnished the villa with pieces acquired from antique dealers, auctions or antique fairs. Some of the more unique pieces include the beautiful doors of the walk-in wardrobes in two of the bedrooms, Empire wardrobes and chests of drawers. There are two chairs and a table from Puccini's villa at Torre del Lago, as well as a late Empire sideboard of Calabrese origin.

Accommodation Details

On the Ground Floor There is a drawing room with antique double-faced fireplace, two sofas and card table with 4 chairs. Adjacent is a dining room seating 16. The well-equipped kitchen allows for informal dining for 6. It also has a big fireplace and pizza oven. There is a TV/media room with double sofa-bed and armchairs and a billiard room with 2 armchairs and table. There are two bathrooms - both with Jacuzzi and a small laundry room.

On the Upper Floor There is access by two staircases of 16 and 13 stairs respectively. : it features one double bedroom with king-size bed and bathroom with Jacuzzi hydro-massage bath and shower,. Three double bedroom with king-size bed and en suite with Jacuzzi shower. In the largest room there is also a balcony reached by a spiral staircase with single bed. There is also a triple bedroom with three single beds . The bathroom is with Jacuzzi tube and shower , shared with a single bedroom. Above the large dining room and reached by a staircase of 9 stairs, a bedroom with 2 single beds The bathroom is for this bedroom is one flight down.
